Dear Father Young:
I would like to congratulate you and your parish community for surpassing your goal for the 2015 Catholic Charity Appeal. This year we celebrate our 90th Anniversary of sharing God’s love with others. Each year, the Catholic Charity Appeal helps tens of thousands of Rhode Islanders who have nowhere else to turn.On behalf of all those whose lives have been changed for the better, please extendmy sincere thanks to your lay leadership and parishioners for making the Appeal such a great success.
Please remember to pray for the continued success of the 2015 Appeal throughout our parishes. Be assured that you will remain in my prayers asking the Lord to continue to bless you and your parish community.
In gratitude for your faithful service to the people of God
in the Diocese of Providence,
+Thomas J. Tobin
The 2015 40 Days for Life Fall Campaign will begin on Wednesday, September 23, and will conclude on Saturday, October 31. This event is being hosted by the Diocese of Providence Office of Life and Family Ministry. The Campaign calls for peaceful prayer vigils at Planned Parenthood (111 Point St., Providence) and Women’s Medical Clinic (1725 Broad St., Cranston) throughout the duration of the 40 Days. We are asking parishes to adopt a day and for individuals to adopt an hour for this year’s campaign. Please encourage women who are in a crisis or unplanned pregnancy to call us for confidential assistance! (401-421-7833 x218) Those who are not able to make it can still give support though prayer, fasting, and other avenues of community outreach. To learn more about the campaign call Carol Owens at the above number.
Our Edgewood-Pawtuxet Food Closet, located at the Church of the Transfiguration at 1665 Broad St., is in need of extra volunteers on Friday mornings from
9:00AM to 10:30AM. Please call 467-3955 if you are available to help!
